The MAXI MELT screw exists since 2004 and has proved its performance to plasticize all types of polymers as amorphous, semi-crystalline, giving injection molders the advantages described before. Over the years the basic concept has remained the same, but our research continued to improve the product diversifying the solutions for certain sectors with specific needs.




For technical precision molding, in a lot of cases high and narrow product tolerances are needed in combination with a high repeatability. Therefore it is crucial that process parameters are stable to guarantee a high plasticizing capacity, even if the shot weight is 60% or more of the injection molding.

MAXI MELT PRECISION can, compared with traditional screws, handle difficult process conditions. This means that the shot volume and the dosing time varies less than 2-3%, even in critical conditions. MAXI MELT PRECISION geometry further improves aesthetic appearance of the molded parts even when processing polymers sensitive to degradation.


The basic requirements for molding thin wall packaging products are a high productivity demand combined with the ability to fill molds with very thin walls in combination with an optimal surface appearance. To be able to fill cavities it is often necessary to use polymers with high viscosity, sometimes modified with elastomers to overcome the intrinsic fragility problems of plastic materials and fluids even with the presence of small amounts of the master to give pastel colors .

The combination of low viscosity polymer, elastomer and the master, constitute an extreme challenge for plasticizing; in fact the state of the polymer fluid slip between them without trapping elastomer and the master, especially when they are required to fast plasticizing times.

For these reasons the MAXI MELT PACK was developed to manage the increases shear stresses locally and to homogenize polymers who are, by their nature, very difficult to plasticize.


For molding of super tough polymers, for example, couplings, large diameter joints for large diameter pipes in the building industry or technical parts with high resistance, polymers with a high viscosity are used. For example they use MFI of from 0.2 to 0.8 g / 10 min. In these cases  a traditional screw will show a strong overheating during plasticizing. This overheating determines the need to plasticize slowly to avoid too high temperatures of the melt which cause high shrinkage. Therefore it will be impossibility to produce parts within tolerance.

Tip assemblies with special geometry are developed for the MAXI MELT ULTRA and are able to handle these extreme cases and ensure a fast production with products in tolerance.


Among the MAXI MELT profiles are solutions for the molding of materials dedicated to meet the most different needs as for example the molding of ceramic materials, prosthesis to be implanted in the human body, or if there is the need to reduce the cycle time in general.

The solution is the MAXI MELT SPECIAL screw profile with a special geometry for a specific problem with the customer and to achieve the agreed results. This type of screw MAXI MELT is less suitable for general applications.
